Description:Job Summary: The Operations Technician is primarily
responsible for assisting the Operations department in performing
small general maintenance duties and ensuring upkeep and general
maintenance provision of The Opportunity Tree's fleet of vehicles
at all of The Opportunity Tree's locations. Primary duties will
include but not be limited to: taking agency vehicles to/from
designated service providers for oil changes, service needs, tire
changes, car washes, etc., ensuring each vehicle is equipped with
required first aid kits, fire extinguisher, communication devices,
etc., and assisting with minor facility repairs as needed. Basic
clerical duties involving maintaining spreadsheets, updating
records, filing Operations documents, labeling agency equipment,
setup/tear down of program areas, etc.
Essential Job Functions:
- Coordination, pick up & drop off of fleet vehicles to
designated service providers as required including but not limited
to dealerships, mechanics, car washes, various agency facilities,
DMV, etc.
- Maintain essential vehicle documents including but not limited
to: vehicle registrations, insurance documents, vehicle inspection
documents, transportation logs, etc.
- Maintain agency vehicle inventory list/schedule
- Maintain essential supplies in all vehicles including but not
limited to: assigned vehicle communication devices, first aid kits,
fire extinguishers, maintenance cards, vehicle logs, etc.
- Maintain interior and exterior appearance and basic
functionality of agency vehicles including car washes, proper tire
inflation, GPS unit functionality, battery charge, minor issue
troubleshooting, etc.
- Assist with basic repairs and maintenance issues under
supervision of Operations Manager
- Completion of weekly/monthly vehicle inspections
- Basic clerical duties including maintaining spreadsheets,
tracking agency inventory, updating Operations related agency
records, communicating using agency email, etc.
- Assist with basic operational needs such as periodic set
up/tear down of program areas and shared spaces, moving office
furniture, setting up agency computers, etc.
- Delivery and pickup of material/goods in coordination with
Employment Services as required
- Maintains confidentiality of information regarding Members and
The Opportunity Tree
- Advocate on behalf of the Members and their families to ensure
individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities have a
voice
- Compliant with attendance rules
- Promote and maintain a collaborative and respectful working
environment and a line of communications with all stakeholders of
The Opportunity Tree
- Comply and enforce the Policies, Procedures, and Regulations of
The Opportunity Tree

Requirements:
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- Current driver license with Non-Restricted Motor Vehicle Record
and compliance per the requirements of The Opportunity Tree's
insurance carrier
- Communicate in English; speech, write and read
- Experience: Three (3) years of maintenance experience,
preferred experience in the Intellectual and Developmental
Disabilities (IDD) field
- Education: High school diploma or GED
- Knowledge: working knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel,
web browser
- Personal enthusiasm for participation in a non-profit
organization, which provides services to individuals with
intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Positive attitude and ability to represent The Opportunity Tree
effectively in the community.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team member with Members,
staff, families, funders and stakeholders
- Successful completion and maintain all required training which
may include CPR, First Aid, and Prevention and Support
- Successfully meet AZ-DPS requirements for Fingerprint
Clearance
- Reliable transportation and travel for The Opportunity Tree
business
- Skills to include but not limited to knowledge of principles in
staff interaction, task productivity, time management, problem
identification and resolution administration Work Environment:
- Lift/carry/transfer minimum of 40 pounds
- Bend, kneel, and stoop
- Pushing or pulling of wheelchairs
- Reach/ reach overhead
- Walk/stand for extended periods
- Sit for extended periods
- Finger/hand/wrist dexterity to eye
- Work outside in a variety of weather conditions
