Interns who perform well and demonstrate a commitment to our values of integrity, creativity, teamwork, passion and excellence may be extended employment opportunities with Western Alliance Bank.The intern will be a team of:Model Risk Management GroupThe bank uses statistical models to make important decisions, such as forecasting credit losses, valuing assets, measuring risk, and detecting financial crimes. While valuable, the use of statistical models exposes the bank to risk if they are incorrect or not suited for their intended purpose. The Model Risk Management Group is tasked with ensuring models perform well. In this role, you will learn how to use and develop your data skills and statistical knowledge in a highly regulated environment to ensure that the bank's models are sound.What we are looking for: Individuals who are passionate and entrepreneurial, just like our clients. Specifically, we're looking for top-performers interested in pursuing careers in Commercial Banking.You may be a fit for the program if you meet certain eligibility requirements, including:

• Enrolled in a Quantitative Masters Program(Statistics, Data Science, Econometrics or related)
• GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Demonstrated experience in one of the following: R, Python, Stata, SPSS, SAS, SQL
• Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision
• An interest in working in the Commercial Business Banking industryTo be eligible for this program, you must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis.
