Responsibilities
The Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner is responsible for delivering care to patients admitted to Neurosurgery at Chandler Regional Medical Center.

• Provides patient care within the scope of practice as set forth by the Arizona State Board of Nursing
• Obtains medical history, performs physical examinations, formulates differential diagnosis and establishes a treatment plan in collaboration with the treating physician and nursing staff.
• Orders and interprets laboratory and other diagnostic tests within scope of practice.
• Writes orders and prescribes medications, including controlled substances.
• Instructs and counsels patients and their family regarding the diagnosis, treatment plan and medications.
• Makes referrals to ancillary departments and outside agencies.
• Formulates discharge plan and works in collaboration with case management to ensure safe, timely discharge.
• Writes discharge prescriptions and educates patients on medications.
• Completes hospital and department documentation legibly, accurately and within designated timeframe. Dignity Health now offers an Education Benefit program for benefit-eligible employees.   Qualifications
  MINIMUM Master's Degree from an accredited school of nursing required. 3 years clinical experience Current AZ RN license Current AZ Nurse Practitioner license National Certification in a Nurse Practitioner specialty (ANP, ACNP, FNP) Current DEA certificate American Heart Association BLS American Heart Association ACLS Credentialed as allied health professional with CRMC and MGMC required. PREFERRED 1 year Experience as Neurosurgery NP preferred.
  Pay Range
  $51.66 - $86.79/hour
