Application Specialist II is responsible for providing support for
the live application software that our user base is dependent on.
You will be working on incidents that have been escalated from
frontline IT support on the service desk and fulfilling application
specific service requests in addition to diagnosing incidents and
fixing the issue or managing it through resolution within defined
service levels.The Application Specialist II is well versed in the
group of applications assigned with responsibility for identifying
problem trends and contributing to the discovery of permanent
solutions. This role will also help with training of new staff and
will provide advice to the functional teams as well as the
frontline IT support staff on the service desk.Principal
Responsibilities:
- Investigates, diagnoses, and solves application-related issues
and fulfill service requests for standard and ad-hoc
offerings.
- Schedules work to meet priorities and minimize business
disruption.
- Maintains security and functionality through the application of
temporary fixes and workarounds.
- Updates knowledge base to facilitate future resolution of
common errors.
- Keeps relevant stakeholders apprised of any new issues in a
clear and timely manner.
- Processes after-hours data changes on production systems.
- Trains and onboards team members to properly handle all
day-to-day responsibilities.
- Works directly with project teams in transitioning new and
changed services to the standard support model.
- Follows guidelines and processes to submit requests for change
based on user feedback and analysis of common issues.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned or
apparent.Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with ITSM processes
and toolsets.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with knowledge
management methodologies and toolsets.
- Foundation level IT certification in a specialty area
(Technical, Process, etc.)
- Understanding of ITSM frameworks in relation to service
delivery
- Understanding of agile project management processesMinimum
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting enterprise level
applications in a virtual support environment.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience writing SQL queries to
retrieve and manipulate data.
- Experience with problem identification techniques.Rewarding
